I did see something along those lines, yes. LOLGrenades, or something like that, had a LOL-speak version of "The Trouble with Tribbles". It made me giggle muchly. I think that it is perhaps the inherent absurdity that makes the lack of correctness acceptable. It's not trying to be serious. And I don't have too many problems with the occasional gaffe or shortening. It's when people are constantly and willfully displaying a lack of care that I want to bludgeon them with "The Complete and Unabridged Rules of the English Language" volumes 1-15.
As to your second question: Probably. I think I would get pretty pissed off if someone was calling me every other day for that sort of thing. If you have requested through the appropriate channels, you are on the To-Do list. If they don't get to you for a week/by the time they said they would, then feel free to ask for a status report. Once. Bugging should not happen in an ideal world.
...Unless, of course, the bugging is because the IT people just aren't doing their job. "We'll have it done by tomorrow." "You said that three weeks ago." Yeah, in that case, bugging is warranted. It might piss them off, but their slacking would be cutting into your ability to do your own job.
...Incidentally, you aren't the one making the requests, are you?
Questions!
