As a first entry since... well, who knows when - I'm typing this on Notepad at work - I felt it was fitting to spread the news on a new bill to everyone that hasn't seen the latest machinations of the US Congress. In a stunning display of... well, something resembling common sense, Congress decided that they weren't going to tolerate the exploitation
of minors in chat rooms and sites like MySpace, so they put forth a bill to essentially ban such sites from educational and library computers. *Gasp y shock!* Congress did something right?! Well... no, not really. If you read the bill, you see that Congress doesn't really know how to define such newfangled technology. Ergo, they put in a broad definition. And by "broad", I mean:
Chat site : Congress Definition :: Pedigree French Poodle : Dog
... yes, I'm being serious here. No, I'm not exagerating. Go read for yourself.
In other news, I'm not quite dead yet.
