Wow, it's been over half a year since I last posted... There's not really been a lot going on with me, though. No LJ-worthy drama or hijinks; my life's pretty boring, really.

Cut to save f-list room... )

Well... there's not much going on. We have a home network now, my brother's home from school for the next two weeks or so, my sister flunked the 10th grade...

Anyway, I'm mostly just letting everyone know I still live. I hope you guys are all keeping well. I'll try to update every once in a while.

Well, if anyone has something they'd like to ask me about life, the universe, and whatever, please feel free! It'll prolly inspire me to post more often.

Um... wow. *Looks at timestamp* It's been over a year since I last posted.

I am alive, contrary to what is probably popular opinion. The year's been rather... interesting, too.

My last year in a nutshell...

Cut for convenience )

Well, I haven't been following my friends' journals as I should (and I was somewhat surprised when I noticed almost everyone seems to be friends-locked). I'll try to do better. This week, I catch up!

Yanked from LinaLoki...

Your SAT Score of 1510 Means:

You Scored Higher Than Howard Stern
You Scored Higher Than George W. Bush
You Scored Higher Than Al Gore
You Scored Higher Than David Duchovny
You Scored Higher Than Natalie Portman
You Scored Lower Than Bill Gates

Your IQ is most likely in the 140-150 range

Equivalent ACT score: 34

Schools that Fit Your SAT Score:
California Institute of Technology
Stanford University
Princeton University
Yale University
Harvard University

Interestingly enough, I think that was my ACT score.

After playing around with it for a bit, I discovered that the score I made on the SAT in the 7th grade still beat Dubya's score. I laugh heartilly.

To commemorate my newest game... a new icon! So far, FF8 is pretty cool. The only thing that kills me is the freaking world map! I like having a top-down view, dang it! This POV stuff just gets me lost!

*cough*

Anyway, it's a fun game. At the point I'm at, though, I don't see how the lead (Squall) and the love-interest (Rinoa) are going to get together. No chemistry yet, and I'm almost halfway through the game. Then again, maybe I shouldn't have read the recap at Videogame Recaps (incidentally, that's where I got the icon) before I played; it could be messing with my ability to see these things. Hilarious site, but the humor's rather crude, so beware.

I'll eventually get around to reading & responding to you guys' posts. Honest!

Hey Loki? Guess who found a holo Draco Malfoy?

Boo-yah!

In other news, school has a significant possibility of suckage. I only have four classes, but three have major projects. I just want to graduate, dammit.

As a first entry since... well, who knows when - I'm typing this on Notepad at work - I felt it was fitting to spread the news on a new bill to everyone that hasn't seen the latest machinations of the US Congress. In a stunning display of... well, something resembling common sense, Congress decided that they weren't going to tolerate the exploitation
of minors in chat rooms and sites like MySpace, so they put forth a bill to essentially ban such sites from educational and library computers. *Gasp y shock!* Congress did something right?! Well... no, not really. If you read the bill, you see that Congress doesn't really know how to define such newfangled technology. Ergo, they put in a broad definition. And by "broad", I mean:

Chat site : Congress Definition :: Pedigree French Poodle : Dog

... yes, I'm being serious here. No, I'm not exagerating. Go read for yourself.

In other news, I'm not quite dead yet.

As much as I was irritated by the whole Muhammad cartoons debacle, I'm not sure this contest is quite the right response.

They do make a damn good point, though.

In case anyone didn't know, the 1st class postage rate went up to $.39, effective yesterday.

Not that the US Postal Service could be bothered to let anyone know. Assholes.

Pirates of the Caribbean 2 comes out in theaters next summer. (7/7, I think)

PotC 2 and 3 both have actors listed as playing Bootstrap Bill.

In the upcoming The Last Unicorn remake, both King Haggard and the skull are played by their original VAs. Molly Grue will be played by the former voice of Lady Amalthea. Here's hoping that the new unicorn won't have the maddening vibrato.

Work can be dead dull when the boss isn't around. Which is why I'm currently netsurfing.

I'm thinking about applying for a spot in fandom high with a character whose fandom is currently not represented at all, but I'll probably end up waiting until the summer; my school schedule is majorly crunchy this spring.

Oh Great Cthulhu!

I have been an extremely industrious devotee this year.

In March, I bombed a cultist gathering (-100 points). In November, I burnt my copy of the Necronomicon (-75 points). In January, I made a burnt offering to the Dead Dreamer (100 points). In October, I fed [info]beta_chan to a Shoggoth (250 points). In June, I exposed [info]decembrerose to soul-rending horrors (250 points). In September, I rescued [info]yukihyouchan from being sacrificed (-200 points).

In short, I have been very good (225 points) and deserve to be promoted to High Priest.

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

Last Monday I pulled [livejournal.com profile] jwren22's hair (-5 points). In February I set [livejournal.com profile] linaloki's puppy on fire (-66 points). Last Saturday I pulled over and changed [livejournal.com profile] beta_chan's flat tire (15 points).

Overall, I've been naughty (-78 points). For Christmas I deserve a lump of coal!

You are Captain Picard!
One of Starfleet's living ledgends, you have saved
the Federation many times over. Your battle
experience has pioneered many strategies and
maneuvers that will prove to be valuable
tactics in many battles to come. Your crew
trusts you implicitly. However, you do have a
tendency to keep too much emotion bottled up
inside. You need to do Beverly Crusher in a bad
way. The thing most missing in your life, has
been right in front of your face for too many
years. Your distance from your crew has given
you the perspetive to make the tough decisions,
but at great cost to your own emotional well
being. If you open this side of yourself, you
will only enhance your love of humanity and
desire to protect it, not hinder it. Take
someone into your heart Jean Luc.

Which Starfleet Captain Are You?

Well... he's my... 3rd or 4th favorite captain, so I guess that's cool. Tied for 3rd, anyway.
